Thallus ±subpulvinate, irregular, ±loosely adnate, 1–5 cm wide, 28–55 µm thick, olivaceous to olivaceo-leaden grey. Lobes rotund to ±oblong, ±plicato-undulate, 1.5–4 mm broad; margins entire to lacerate, ±lobulate. Upper surface smooth to roughened, ±matt, lobulate, often with accessory lobes. Lower surface naked or with minute rhizines. Apothecia laminal, pedicellate, 1–2 mm wide; thalline exciple ±lobulate or fringed, cream to brownish; pedicel dilated, vertically plicate, finally attached at base of proper exciple, equal or more than apothecial width, ±lacerate, ±lobulate or with accessory lobes; disc concave to flat, brown to reddish brown. Ascospores ±8 per ascus, ellipsoidal, submuriform, 25–40 × 10–13 µm; apices ±acute. Pycnidia submarginal. Conidia 2–3 µm long; apices not swollen. | ||
Uncommon in poor to dense rainforest on bark of trees and on rocks; restricted to Christmas Is. and north-eastern Qld, as far S as Cardwell. | ||
